How to Get Medical Marijuanas Card in Florida
There are many ways to obtain a medical marijuana card in Florida, depending on your residency and eligibility. If you are a Florida resident who is at least 18 years old, you can qualify for a medical marijuana card by completing this steps:
Step 1: Visit a Medical Marijuana Treatment Center (MMTC).
Note: Online MMJ services are not allowed by the state of Florida. Visit a physical clinic and obtain a recommendation from a physician specializing in cannabis treatment. The physician will assess your condition to determine if you are eligible for an MMJ recommendation. If you are eligible, the doctor will write a recommendation for you and you can take it to a licensed MMTC to get your card.

Step 2: Get your paperwork in order!
Before you go to the MMTC with your recommendation, make sure you have all of the necessary documents. You need one of the following items:
- Florida ID or driver’s license.
- Paperwork proving your status as a Florida resident.
- Proof of your diagnosis.(Approved form completed by your physician)
- You will also need to sign consent forms stating that you understand that marijuana is still illegal under federal law and that the use of marijuana is at your own risk.

Step 3: Get your medical marijuana card!
Once you have all the documents, you can visit a licensed MMTC to receive your physical card. You will be asked to present the required documentation to complete the application and then you will be required to pay a small fee to obtain the card. Your card will be valid for one year and must be renewed annually in order to continue using medical marijuana legally. If you move out of state at any point during that year, you must surrender your card to an authorized MMTC.
Please note that not every patient is eligible for a medical marijuana card. There are age restrictions and other conditions that you must meet in order to qualify for one.
